  Primary Health Care

SOAR provides doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals to medical missions in partnership with other aid agencies such as Remote Area Medical or the Airdrop Assist. These missions provide free medical care to people who do not have access to medical care due to poverty or situations where the location is so remote that medical personnel are not normally available.

Rene Steinhauer sutures a wound on a team member after a vehicle rolled over on a remote jungle road.   This child suffered multiple insect bites. She lived in a
grass hut.
  This man chopped his thumb
off with a machete two months
before the medical team arrived in his jungle village.

Volunteer Marc Bacaro (EMT) comforts a child
with a broken leg before being loaded into a RAM
medical evacuation plane. The child was flown from
a remove village in Guyana to Aishelton District Hospital
where he was able to receive x-rays and have the
fracture repaired.
